A Mini-Success

from the mom

We had a mini-success in the whole potty-training saga. After 2+ years of trying (on my part, not his), Ben successfully used the toilet once on Sunday. His father was responsible for anticipating the need and talking him into it. He's been terrified of it until now and though I was hoping he would use it again (and hasn't), it feels like we have budged a boulder loose and there's hope anew.

We all jumped in the car and went to McDonald's Playland to celebrate!

There's a lot you don't anticipate about your spouse when you first meet. When Rachelle and I split off from the Lincoln Memorial to get coffee with Christina and Joli (seven years ago), I never expected that she'd be writing about our son's inaugural potty moment.
