I promise not to turn this into an American Idol fan blog but, ok....
How cool was it to hear "Shout to the Lord" sung (and sung well by the 8 finalists) on the most-watched show on television? "Shout to the Lord all the earth, power and majesty, praise to the King...."
I thought it was cool they let Dolly Parton come on the show and talk and sing about Jesus. Tonight it just got better!
A little later: I did a little bit of reading and discovered that the first performance (which I missed because I went to bed) didn't use "Jesus." For whatever reason, the song was performed again Thursday (even better) and did include "Jesus." Some noted that only three performers, David Archuleta (a Mormon), Brooke White (obviously a Christian from all her comments and stories) and Kristy Lee Cook (who previously sang "Amazing Grace") sang the particular part of the song with the Jesus lyric. But several of the others, including David Cook wore crosses, which I thought was respectful.

That was cool, though I wish they wouldn't have edited out the word "Jesus". Oh well, small steps! :-)
I thought it was strange...I don't know. Yeah, they sang, "My Shepherd, my Savior..." initially. I didn't see it live though; I was looking for Miley Cyrus' performance on YouTube (I can't help it; I love that girl) and say "Idols sing Shout to the Lord" and just had to watch.
I saw it the first night and yelled at the TV when they switched the words... effective, I know :)
And the next night when they did it right I wondered if those three just chose to go against the flow.
Regardless of whether Fox "meant" for it to happen or not, I was happy!
