Separate Rooms

from the mom

We have finally accepted that we are going to have move Ben downstairs to our guest room. He's been sleeping down there for the past couple of weeks and during that time, we have had the best sleep we've had in over a year. Kyri does great when she's in her room alone. She wakes up once a night at most and the past couple of nights, she's slept from about 8pm to 6:30am. We experimented three nights ago and moved Ben up to his own bed when we went to bed. She woke up 4-5 times.

As much as I would like to have them both close to us, and have a separate guest room, we value our sleep more. So now I need to plan how to rearrange furniture.

We have been having issues with both our girls in the same room, too. But we feel like it's our only option space-wise right now! I will tell Kevin how I'm having all these "issues" with the girls sleeping together (naps are usually when our issues arise). His response is always, "What did they do in one-room cabins?"

I'm glad you think you have a solution! Adequate sleep makes all the difference!

Addie slept on the couch in our living room for about three weeks straight, until Daph finally slept enough for Addie to go back to her own bed. Even now we'll move Addie out to our new playroom if Daphne is having a bad night. You do what you have to. And be grateful that we DON'T live in one-room cabins (I've wondered that myself!)

Glad you are getting some sleep. It is vital isn't it?
Re: one-room cabins: the kids were up at dawn doing chores, then school, then more chores. When you are that tired, you sleep. No problem!
