Earlier this week, Ben spotted a photo on the fridge of some friends serving as missionaries in Guatamala. Pointing to Mr. K, he said, "It's Jesus, isn't it Mommy? Am I right?" When I relayed the story to M, he said that Ben had asked him the same thing about a contestant on American Idol. Apparently the boy is searching.
Ben is an extremely picky eater and further limited by allergies to soy, nuts, and sugar. Yesterday, neither lunch nor dinner was to his liking so he ate only under threat of bad happening to him if he didn't. He finished teeny-tiny servings but I knew he was probably very hungry. I hate this dilemma, particularly with Ben who avoids vegetables at all costs, and can only have minimal fruit right now.
We had to run some errands. After the first stop, a little voice piped up, "Kyri's pretty hungry."
So we played the game. "Oh, does Kyri want some vegetables?"
"Kyri wants some veggie chips." We went into another store thinking it might be forgotten. Not so.
When we came out to the car again: "Kyri's pretty hungry." Having pity, we went to (and please forgive me for this) McDonald's. As we pulled up to the window, we said, "Kyri likes french fries. Let's get her some."
"How about some chicken?"
"Kyri doesn't like chicken." You could almost see his mental capacity being stretched as he tried to figure out what to do with this dilemma.
In the end, we bought them french fries, and Kyri shared with her brother who always looks out for her. It turns out, she was pretty hungry.

LOL that's hilarious!!!
Ben's going to be very unpleasantly surprised when Kyri suddenly articulates her own opinions on the matter.
Stuart is very picky, also, but at least his choices aren't as limited as Ben's. Sympathy, sympathy.
