Is That Blue Sky?

from the mom

For the moment it has stopped raining. I-5 (the equivalent to I-95 for you Easterners) is closed 15 miles south of us both directions. But we are fine. No power outtages.

Kyri's cold/ear infection has morphed into bronchitis. She's a tough girl and she continues to play. When it gets really bad and she only wants to be held I give her a little tiny half-dose of Ibuprofen and then she rebounds and thinks she's just fine. And doesn't need to nap. She won't let me out of her sight for the most part and the house continues to disintegrate around me.

M told me to go out tonight with a friend and get a break. But I don't want to go out. I want a clean house. And by the time he's home to watch the kids, I'm exhausted and just manage dinner.

We still don't get a lot of sleep but I am managing better. M is a HUGE help and somehow we make it. To put it all in perspective, a good friend called last night and told me she has been praying about our sleep (perhaps that's why I'm coping better?) a lot lately as shes remembers to pray for her 49-year old friend (with a 55-year old husband) with a SURPRISE newborn who isn't sleeping much either. "See?" I can hear God saying, "it could be worse. You aren't THAT old."

Today I have HOPE. But as soon as these kids are healthy I'm sending them out with their father for HOURS while I clean this place up. All I want for Christmas is some order. Oh and good health.
