from the mom
I sat (or stood) through a lot of weddings thinking "How on earth can she promise to stay with this guy forever?" before I finally found one I didn't want to try to live without.
Four and a half years later, I still can't get enough of the guy. I can hardly wait for his return from work to listen to his day and share mine. I think he is so fascinating. And he is still the best combination of non-mushy and romantic I have ever known.
This week we had a date night and like in our pre-marriage days, he didn't tell me where we were going. He just picked out this lovely place down on the water front and took me for peach cobbler with almond sauce and chocolate molten cake with cream sauce. Our summer intern boarder Meghan watched the kids for us and we enjoyed a couple of hours of uninterrupted talk and a walk on the pier. Ah....

So romantic! :) I love it when couples still "date" long after -- years after -- the wedding celebration ends.
Guess I made a pretty good choice for my legal assistant :)
Date nights are good. Pastor Joe Holman, who did our marriage counseling (the entire 2 hours of it :)), strongly recommended regular date nights, and we love going out together.
