from the mom
Today my friend M came over and did my hair and makeup. My hair hasn't known a curling iron in a long time and when it was all over, I was feeling like a new woman. I've never been a very girly girl, but I was inspired to wear a skirt on a little outing I had with the girls tonight. We just got together to celebrate a friend's birthday at a local coffee shop. When I came home I told my husband I was thinking about buying a curling iron of my own. He is all for it.
Today I was remembering when my mom sent me to charm school. We learned how to sit properly (never look backward at the chair but rather use your leg to feel it out before you sit, never cross your legs, etc....), set a table, enter a room, etc.... We worked on choosing appropriate attire for every occasion. I guess I would have to say it didn't really take too well. But today I had a rush of fear that somehow my daughter needs to learn these things and I've forgotten them all. Then I wondered if they had a mother/daughter finishing course that we could take together?

How cute you must have looked! Any pix?
Love you!
I'm glad you were able to get time with a friend to fix yourself up--I think moms need to be reminded they are still beautiful since most days we don't have time to do much more than "wash and wear." Even if you're not a girly-girl it's good to have these experiences now and then. :)
