Teething, Riding the Bus, and Preschool

from the mom

Kyrie is teething in a mighty way. Poor little baby! Pain has entered her world in a big way and she isn't entirely sure what to do about it. She gnaws on anything she can get her hands on, and begs for her parents to fix the problem. Amazingly (and thankfully) she slept pretty well last night and really only woke up once crying. But she is a cranky girl in the daytime.
M rode the bus to work yesterday for the first time. It allows me to have the car for preschool transportation. He gets in some extra reading and it is only a 30 minute ride. He did it again this morning.

Ben smiled at me when I met him at school yesterday and said "mommy." His smile was a happy one instead of a relieved one and both of his teachers managed to tell me that he had a "great day." He came home speaking non-stop and proceeded straight to the refrigerator to work with his numbers and letters. Then he ate lunch and took a LONG nap.

He was excited when we arrived at school this morning and headed straight into the classroom without a glance back.

Meanwhile, my new routine gets me up earlier and allows me to accomplish a lot more in the morning when I have the most energy.

I can remember my mom posting letters and numbers on the refrigerator for me to learn. Apparently it worked :)

Glad to hear that the first day went well, but sorry to hear that Kyri is cranky. D hasn't started teething yet; I'm not particularly looking forward to it, but it will be nice to be able to give her a bigger variety of food. She's an extremely picky eater, like her brother.

It sounds like you guys have made a prayerful decision that will help Ben. That's so great that he's happy to be there--I'm sure it makes it easier on you that he enjoys his time at school!

So glad Ben's liking school! I think you've made the right choice, and I hope it proves valuable to him.

Poor Kyri's parents! Hope those teeth settle down soon.
