from the mom
Tuesday night I discovered an interesting phenomena. Ben and Kyri were playing on his bed and his dad was getting ready to put him down for the night. I moved Kyri and decided to let her play in her crib until she got fussy while I finished up some things. She never got fussy. She fell asleep and slept very well, while Ben made a racket. So last night we tried it again. Ditto. Only this time she slept from 9:30pm until.... Well at 6:50am I was laden with milk and went and got her. She ate but still slept and I put her back and she woke up about 8:15. Will this perfect thing continue? We shall see.
Ben, on the other hand.... He just has too much going on in his head to relax. School is full of arts and crafts and playing on the playground. But he is driven to learn numbers, letters, and words. He has discovered the 100s. That and something went off in his head the other day when he was saying "m" and he realized he heard that sound in the word "milk." So he questioned me about that and now he will say "m" "moon" "milk".... We had church home group here last night and one of the ladies worked as an early childhood educator. She said Ben is a very logical thinker and was pretty impressed at his understanding of shapes, colors, numbers, and letters. We are really excited but we want him to relax and be a little boy for awhile. And be able to sleep without feeling like he needs to problem-solve at night.

Ben -- The Thinker. :)
Hi Ben, welcome to the "must solve the world's problems before sleeping" club! May I make a few suggestions as a longtime member? Put your worries and thoughts in God's inbox for the night and do something relaxing before bedtime. Don't rely on alcohol (when you get old enough) to make you sleepy. And take up yoga. Seriously, it helps. :) Smooches!
