from Kyrie
Mom is blaming it on Ben. He has a bad habit of turning on the television. And sometimes Daddy doesn't turn it right off. (That's what she says anyway.) So a few weeks ago, we caught a little of American Idol. Mom and Dad thought it was "cute" the way Ben danced to the songs. So it stayed on. Just long enough for them to get hooked.
Mom was horrified when Melinda Doolittle was voted off. She threatened to quit watching. Then she said that even though Melinda was the best singer, that Blake and Jordin had the best public relations skills. So since she had to give them that, she thought she should watch it again.
So last night we watched. I bee-bopped to Jordin's first song. Simon didn't like it but I thought it was great. I decided I'm a Jordin fan. Ben really likes Blake because he thinks he is a good dancer. Mom thinks Blake is just a little too Duran Duran for her tastes. Dad likes to make fun of Mom and act like she's the one who wants to watch. But he took a break from a long night of legal research just to watch.
Mom says tonight's finale is too late and too long for us to watch. We'll see about that.

I must confuse I'm an Idol watcher myself. I've seen almost all of this seasons shows:) Last night we even caught the last 15min of the show. I don't know if we'll see it tonight...but I was bummed about Melinda too;)
Oh, no. Another family has been sucked in!
Idol is the regular topic of conversation in our carpool.
Kyri, ignore the "too late and too long." Just wail loudly at opportune moments, and they'll let you come watch just to keep you quiet so they can hear :)

I feel so out of touch with culture when people talk about American Idol because I've only seen a few snippets of it and never a full show. Someday I need to try and get into it so I can relate to the world around me better. :)
I watched one show of Idol that was a compilation of their worst
and boy were they bad. Kyri and Ben would definitely be more
watchable.
