from the mom
I have been remembering sick days from my pre-motherhood adult years. Languishing around home, drinking tea, taking long naps, watching movies or tv to take your mind off the hacking, sneezing, sore throat, etc.... Ah, the good old days.
Mothers don't get sick days. Yesterday, I hacked, sneezed, etc...and still managed to feed children, change diapers, give them baths and get to Costco for essentials.
I did take two naps with Kyrie, who slept more than usual. Ben did have unlimited access to his dvds. And I did for the second night in a row refuse to feed my family a meal I had coughed all over. The father was responsible for ordering and selecting take-out. I realize this is a luxury. I doubt my mother and grandmothers could blow off fixing dinner when they were sick. But I'll take whatever I can get.
