On This Wednesday

from the mom

The development of other people's children is rarely all that interesting. Whether ultrasound pictures or reports of crawling, it is all the same unless it is YOUR child (or grandchild). So I have tried not to bore you with all the new things Kyrie is doing. But she is amazing. She has hit all the developmental markers for 6 months (at 4 months). She likes to read books and play with toys and keep busy.

Today Ben discovered that his alphabet and number pieces are magnets and adhere to the refrigerator. They all came together but I discovered he had put all the numbers in one grouping and all the letters in another. (He put "S" with the numbers and it took me awhile to realize he thinks it is a "5".) Ben is very slow with language and we are exploring ways to help him, so sometimes we aren't sure what is happening in his head. These are little triumphs when it is visible that he is learning.

I am exploring becoming a Discovery Toys consultant. We need to find a way for me to make an income without comprising our weekends and all of our evenings. I am learning more and more about childhood development, whether I want to or not, and I love Discovery products. Today I talked to a consultant and I should be on my way sometime in April. Want to host a party?
