Covetousness

from the mom

Our car is in the auto body shop having repairs done from the hit-and-run back in December. We are renting and when we went to pick up our "midsize" they only had SUVs. Bummer! Only we both like this car a little too much. When they called today to say they were a day behind on the Volvo M and I both were a little too happy. I have only been able to drive it once and I am taking it somewhere tonight just because. It is a Subaru and on the smallish side. But it drives very nicely.

I've been babysitting Madison this week. She is 2 1/2 and a good playmate for Ben. The only problem is that Ben likes to impress his playmates by 1) showing off and doing things he isn't supposed to and 2) show off by showing that he is in control (of his mother). It has made for a tough week. Just having three kids is exhausting enough. We have run the diaper assembly line several times. Babysitting is tough after having been in the work force. The money is peanuts and occasionally as I'm changing a diaper and thinking "I'm only getting $30/day for this" I have to remind myself that I'm really just helping out a friend. But at this point, the money will be nice too.

We had several days of snow and then it stayed on the ground for several more. This is unheard of in western Washington. It has been very pretty but today it is finally going away.

Andrew and Jodi Hawes are selling their Subaru Outback because they're moving to the Ukraine as missionaries. Maybe you could buy it. :-)
