Venturing Out

from the mom

Yesterday there was sun! We ventured out to the park. Kyrie blinked at the light and enjoyed her stroller ride. Ben behaved wonderfully and helped push and agreed to hold his mother's hand when we crossed streets. He slid down the wet side and got his backside all wet and walked like a cowboy the rest of the time.

Since that went so well, we decided to take up M's bosses offer of us all going to D.C. when M goes out for his Supreme Court case. We were all able to go for the cost of about one ticket (due to not using our return frequent flyer tickets in Sept.).

I think normal people take smaller steps. After walking a block to the park, they might try a day-trip or venture to the next state. But we are unique. So we're flying to the opposite coast. Kyrie will beat Ben's flying record (age 10 months) and his coast-to-coast record (driven at 4 1/2 months). This will be Ben's fifth trip in an airplane (or 9th and 10th if you consider each way). Not bad for nearly three! Ben will also be celebrating his 3rd birthday in D.C. We should warn him that not all his birthdays will be that spectacular.

Hmm. Good. You can tell us how it goes and give us tips. J2's first official plane right is scheduled for May -- when he'll be 7 months old.
