Getting Ready for Baby

from Ben's mom

Ben's dad is off in Wisconsin at a conference and we are home alone. (His visiting grandparents are taking a few days in Victoria, BC.) We're both glad this is a short trip and M will be home soon.

It would be nice if this didn't coincide with a new stage of 2-yr old tantrums, but it did. I am this close to packing up the DVD player which he constantly is pushing the buttons on. I don't mind a few DVDs a day, but he just wants to open, close, start and stop them.

Last night I settled him with some toys in his room and then went through all his clothes and took out the ones that don't fit or are sure not to fit next summer when he can wear shorts again. Then I sorted through all the garage sale clothes I've gotten him and haven't yet used and arranged them by size. Then I went through the baby clothes and pulled out all my newborn and 0-3 months clothes as well as changing cloths, receiving blankets, etc.... I have a few newborn things ready to take to the Birthing Inn arranged by boy and by girl (I'll have to take both). I have some yellow, red, and white things (and one blue that looks purple) that I think look girlish. Ben is now sharing his space and psychologically I'm a little closer to being "ready."

Sounds like you are making headway on getting ready for the new little one and are therefore much calmer. Good for you. Ben: help, not hinder please. Are you still dancing to the birthday card?
