Game MVPs

from Ben's mom

I have never been a game MVP or even close before. But yesterday, M and I were named game MVPs as part of the Seahawks 12th Man. We were part of a record-breaking crowd (68,161) that set records for the highest decibels (110; 120 is an airport runway). And we got to watch the Seahawks beat the N.Y. Giants 42-30. It was a beautiful day in Seattle, sunny and 75 and I had quite a workout on the stairs at Qwest Field. Thanks to my brother for the birthday tickets to the game.

It was the first time I've ever been in a public place and had a line out the door for the men's restroom and no line to use the women's facilities! That was very gratifying. Seattle is like any sports crowd: raucous, team jerseys and bizarre costumes, the smell of garlic fries and beer in the air. However, Qwest Field offers Thai food for consumption. Just in case you forgot you were in Seattle. Oh, and a draft beer will cost you $8 but a bottled water only $1.50. (Just a little push from those health-conscience capitalists raking in the big bucks at concessions.)
