Airport Observations

from Ben's mom

1) Americans are REALLY fat, particularly in the midwest. I felt sad for all the passengers I flew with today who had to ask for seatbelt extenders.

2) I had a 2-hour layover and so sat down with my book at a restaurant. It was pretty tight and it was nice to see the two men at the table next to me ask the waitress for the tab of the two Navy sailors at the next table. Ah, I love it when people do something nice and unexpected.

3) Last time I was pregnant I did a lot of business travel and no one ever treated me special. Today I had a good day. The flight attendant moved me to a row by myself (the last one by the bathroom) and kept refilling my water glass the whole flight until I gave it to her to throw away before I floated away. Then the rental car guy double upgraded me from a compact to a full-size (to a Grand Marquis that I feel VERY OLD in). All in all, not a bad day.
