Oscar Night

from Ben's mom

No, I didn't watch because we were in Portland with my family. But, I was very glad that Reese Witherspoon took home the little gold man. She deserved it for an incredible performance as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line. Husband Ryan Phillipe could be happy that his film Crash won Best Picture.

you can't quite call Crash "his" movie- from what I understand, he played a very minor role. nonetheless, i get your point. Congrats to Reese, a very humble acceptance speech.

Kinda reminded me of Sally Fields, but she totally deserved it for Walk the Line.

I felt totally out of the pop culture loop as I'd barely even heard of most of the nominations and seen even less. Guess I have some catching up to do.

DCD--You're right, but considering that people say "we won" when the football team they cheer for wins, just being in the picture probably counts for a win for Ryan. -rlr
