The Fireplace

Yesterday, I got to thinking about how good I've been and while Mom was resting I decided to do a little playing in the fireplace. Mom came out a few minutes later and she was not happy. She carried me to the bathtub and started running water with all my clothes still on. Then we took them off, dunking them in the water. Meanwhile, she called Dad and told him what I had done. I had nearly forgotten about the whole thing when Mom reminded me that Dad would be home soon and it would be up to him to decide my fate. That was a very scary thought. I just got a very serious talk.
But when I decided to try it again today, I didn't get off so easy. Especially since I was using a wooden spoon to play in there.

Where did baby Ben go? This isn't baby Ben, this is little boy Ben! He's grown so tall!

Ah... boys. Has he mentioned he's working on his next song for his band, "Ashes"

Ben, there's going to be plenty of times in your life where dignity is called for. But now you're pretty much free to do what you want, as long as you don't mind pictures like these surfacing.

Pretty soon you'll have the whole older brother syndrome. Uncle Mark scrupoulously avoided anything remotely related to older brother syndrome. But once you get OBS, you'll have to spend a lot more time being dignified and such.

Make hay while the sun shines.

Aren't fireplaces fun?? I just discovered ours and had SO much fun chewing on the edge of the hearth until Mama came running over to stop me and said I could break a tooth. Who needs teeth, anyway?

Oh my goodness! This would be funny except I can imagine Meredith doing this sooner than I care to think.
