from Ben's mom
Thanks for all the sympathetic emails.... Yes, it is Day 32. Many of you have said you were praying that the rain would stop soon. Please hold off.
First of all, we have come so close that we might as well break that 1953 record. (We'll tie it tomorrow and break it Saturday.) Rain is forecasted through Saturday. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, there is only a 20% of precipitation. Here in the NW that means that it isn't going to rain, but since it is the NW, we had best leave it at 20% from Labor Day through the 4th of July, just to be safe.
So secondly, Sunday is a day on which we need rain. Huh? Well, you see. Sunday, Seattle hosts the Carolina Panthers for the NFC Championship Playoff game. The Seahawks have done very well in the rain. It is sunlight that throws them. Meanwhile, Carolina, on the other hand. Well, let's just say that this game could very well come down to the weather.... So, I am ready for the rain to stop for a good while on Sunday, at about 6:45pm PST.
