from Ben's mom
Apparently last year's winner of the "Most Fit City"--Seattle--has plunged to no. 8 this year. Does that have anything to do with us?
I do find it interesting that 8 of the Top Ten FATTEST Cities are in the south, and 7 of them are considered sun meccas. I think being fit would be easier in the sunny south than in the rainy northwest. Or is that just an excuse? Obviously, no. 8 Fit-City Seattle and no. 17 Fit-City Portland, have pushed aside the excuses and learned to run in the rain.
Perhaps 2006 is my year to do the same.

We went South for Christmas. The entire week, we ate pork. There were vegetables, cooked with ham and salt. And my mom actually cooks a great deal *lighter* than her mom did.
Besides, when it's the sunniest in the South, it's blazing hot. Pretty much all you want to do is sit, sweat, and eat ham sandwiches.

Extreme heat makes me stay in (like 90+). Rain would make me stay in, too, for obvious reasons. Both have required me to join a gym, so I have no excuse other than maybe their hours aren't perfect for my schedule. Where are my priorities?!
