from Ben's mom
It is Day 27 of rain here in western Washington. We are at floodwatch and there have been a number of evacuations and road closures. (We are no where near a river.) AmTrak has had to suspend service between Portland and Seattle due to mudslides. While none of that has affected us personally, we do have quite a case of SAD (seasonal affective disorder). I am pretty much in the "immerse yourself in a novel and forget about housework" mode. And while we joined a gym because of the rain, we have both found it impossible to drag ourselves out of bed in the dark and drive down there in the rain. Today, it is even having its effects on Ben, who chose a nap over breakfast.

Me too! Big time. I remember my senior year of high school, it was gray (and rainy) for over 90 consecutive days. Blah.
I can't say "I know" to 27 straight days of rain, but I sure can to the whole SAD thing! Pretty much during the winter my wardrobe consists of work clothes & pajamas... drive to work in the dark, come home in the dark. Sure, it's cold and snowy, but at least it's not rainy - perhaps you should consider a cross country move?? We could have SAD together :)
