A New Oven

from Ben's mom

One of the benefits to renting, is that when your oven gives up the ghost (or the burner as is the case), you can simply ask for a new one without feeling any change of status to your bank account.

One of the cons is that you will get the cheapest model on the market without a timer, adequate room for your pots and pans underneath, no window (and corresponding light), and by no means will you get a self-cleaning model. Preheat? Be real.

I was so excited when I learned my 25-year old oven would be replaced. Now I am trying to focus on the positives. It is new and it is clean (for now).

Contentment can be so difficult. I remember that just 2 days after getting a 25" TV from friends at a wonderful price, I was sitting in front of it thinking, "You know, it would be nice to have a bigger TV."
