Ben Goes To the Zoo

Mom made me get up so early on Thursday, it wasn't funny. She said it was time to eat breakfast and put me in my chair. You've got to be kidding, I thought. But I ate some breakfast and then she put me in the car and told me to take a nap. So I did.

And we drove to the Zoo. I met some new friends and we ate snacks together and then went to see the animals. It would have been nicer but something icky got in my eyes and they hurt so bad. Mom kept telling me not to rub them and then she and Mrs. Amy put something in my eyes (when I would have preferred they not get near them). None of this worked and I cried and cried. Finally I felt better and I was too hungry to keep crying. So we had lunch.

I really liked the sea lions who kept swimming past the glass and the monkeys. But my favorite part of the whole day was playing in the giant sandbox right before we left. There was a little slide in there and I wanted to go down in over and over. Mom told me she was tired and worn out and wouldn't I play in the sand so she could talk to her friends? But when was I going to be able to slide again on such a cool slide?

I miss Dad but Mom says we get to see him tomorrow.
