Camping

My parents battled another round of temporary insanity this weekend. Saturday we went for a long car ride and then ended up with everyone from church outside in the trees. I thought it was cool. Some of my friends were there and we talked and ate a little bit. Dad and Mom took me for a walk and I threw rocks into the water and watched them splash. That was fun.

Then it started getting dark and cold. I started saying "bye-bye" to everyone. Time to head home and I started thinking about my nice bed. No luck. Dad put up my Pack 'n' Play in a little room and then I got my pajamas on. That's when I started getting mad. What on earth? It only got worse.

I don't like to sleep with blankets. Only it was COLD. I thought my head might freeze and so I basically put it to Mom like this: IF you are going to do weird stuff like this, then I am going to sleep with you and nurse all night long.

When I woke up, I wanted my high chair and some hot cereal and then a warm bath. Instead it was in my stroller where I had a banana and a muffin and I freezed some more. I hadn't slept much and wanted to be warm and comfy and get a nap. Mom said she understood so she took me for a ride so I could take a nap. Then we came back and got Dad and went home. I took a long nap in my bed and then I went and snuggled with Mom in hers and we both went back to sleep again. Dad has promised we won't do that again for a VERY LONG time.

Ben, I am fully of your opinion regarding camping. Definitely not the way to ruin a good weekend, in my opinion.

Someday, Ben, you will absolutely love camping (if your parents try it again with you) and you will beg to go more often! Your parents will take really cute pictures of you with dirt all over your face and body and you will laugh about it years down the road.

Personally, I enjoy camping except for the "dirt" factor. If I can be clean the entire time, I'm happy to be outdoors in the natural beauty. But, apparently, from pictures my parents have of my childhood, I used to enjoy the campground dirt A LOT!!
