from Ben's mom
I had a call from my friend Kecia yesterday. Neither of us are really "phone people" and to tell you the truth, we haven't talked in ages. I don't know if I have seen her since my wedding. Her phone call made my day.
She has just returned from nearly two months in Indonesia working on tsunami relief. She worked in a village of refugees in a region under Shari'ah law and as prescribed, people cannot teach about Jesus or Christianity. And yet, she says, "things happen" when you be the hands of Jesus and love and serve in His unspoken name. Perhaps what has been missing in most "ministries" for a long time.
Kecia is with Northwest Medical Teams, a great organization from my hometown of Portland, whose mission is to "demonstrate the love of Christ to people affected by disaster, conflict, and poverty." Pray for Kecia as she returns for two more months at the beginning of April.
