My Weekend

Dad is gone a lot these days and when I've asked Mom why he comes home and leaves again so soon, she says he is studying for the Bar. She doesn't like it either but she says it is for our best. She is helping me count down the days (25) until he will be done.

But this weekend he took a study break and we had some fun times. The only thing I really missed out on was visiting Jeremy, who is a real fun guy to play with. (But Mom says I can see him next weekend.) We had dinner at Ryan's house and his neighbors have some dogs, so Dad took me to pet them. And then yesterday we got rid of Mom (baby shower) for awhile and went and spent time with some other dads and kids. Dads are fun! One of the dad's saw some of us were getting hungry, so he just put out a big bowl of cereal and let Christopher, Trinity and I just stand around and eat as much as we wanted. I didn't have to get in my chair or sit down to eat. It was great!

I looked at some pictures of when I was much smaller with Mom. She pointed out my bear Wilson in the pictures and I found myself so grateful for him. He has been with me through a lot. I have been giving him hugs all weekend. I also have just felt like hugging Mom and Dad more lately. They are pretty nice to me.

Mom says Dad has to start studying again tonight and I'm sad. But she picked out some books she thought I would like with some birthday money and so I've been reading a book about Puppies, and another one about Thomas the Tank Engine (with fun lift-the-flaps which is my favorite kind of book), and a really big colorful one about Noah's Ark. So I have some new things to do while Dad is away.

We'll be praying for Mike (and you too, Ben & Rachelle)! We know bar study is no fun at all. Definitely a necessary evil.
