Pilot?

In college, I had an advisor tell me that I should consider becoming an airplane pilot. On our recent trip, we had one leg from Austin to Denver in the 2nd row of a small plane. I watched as the pilot came out at one point and the flight attendant replaced him in the cockpit (there was a co-pilot as well). Apparently, he had to use the restroom. I haven't observed this before and realized that I would not have made a very good pilot. I would have had flight attendants co-piloting a significant part of the time. The same pilot also fixed himself hot chocolate before the 1-1/2 hour flight, grabbed a cold beverage when he was out for his bathroom break, and accepted the flight attendant's offer of coffee later. No wonder he had to use the bathroom....
