I am not feeling well enough today to spend much time on my blog today. But I've agreed to a short interview.
Ben, is it true that you are now appearing on greeting cards and calendars?
Oh, that. So embarrassing. I think she pays for it, so don't get too excited, but there is some Ben merchandise floating out there.
Your mom mentioned that you spend most of your time standing these days?
Well, I heard that Donald Rumsfeld works at a desk standing up and I thought it would be good practice for me. I have realized I will be dependent on my mom until I can walk and then I can run away when she tries to wipe my nose or give me Robitussin.
Your mom mentioned you won't take a bottle or a sippy cup these days? Any particular reason why?
Well, the time has come for me to drink out of a cup or a water bottle. I am nearly 1 year old you know. I'm still working on doing it all by myself but Mom is trying to relinquish some control. I think she recognizes I have to grow up sometime.
Your dad seems a little stressed lately?
Oh, that. He's studying for the Washington Bar. His books are huge and in order to read them I have to crawl on top of them. I've offered my help, but he is pretty intent on being left alone for this. I hope he'll be done soon.

Dear Ben,
Much as he's admired by some, I have to wonder whether Mr. Rumsfeld is a proper role model for working at a desk. I'd recommend Mr. Mike Smith instead, who believes that desks are properly used as footrests.
With love,
