Ten years ago today, I woke up to sunrise on the Irish Sea. We left London on 25 Oct 1994 out of Euston Station and took British Rail to Crewe and then transferred and went on to Holyhead. From there, we took the B & I Ferry to Dublin. It was a night crossing and we slept soundly until the gorgeous sun beamed in. We docked in Dublin and had no idea where to go. But we boarded a bus and when it looked civilized and downtownish, we got off and walked around until the American Express office opened and we could cash in our traveler's cheques for some Irish punts (ah, the old days before Euros). We were starving and found breakfast in a cafe and then located the Kinlay House Hostel where everyone crashed but me. I stayed awake planning and then went out with Anna when she woke up to book a car for the next morning. It was the beginning of a beautiful adventure.
