from Ben's mom
Today we finally made it to the Olympia Farmer's Market. I have no idea what took so long. My mom is ritualistic about visiting her local farmer's market and I have always planned on it, but.... Today it finally happened. Amazing. All those things I haven't been able to find in the grocery store, like kale and a head of radiccio. And fresh basil for about about 80% less than the grocery store. The farmer's market here is deluxe, with live entertainment (Ben was very pleased), about 6 lunch stands with everything from Indian to seafood, and a variety of gift stores, as well as meats, cheeses, bakery goods, and fresh produce. It is also mostly indoors which is typically a necessity in Olympia. Today was a sunny exception and Ben and I took a walk down to the Port of Olympia and looked at the boats and the birds. Now with all this wonderful fall produce, I better get started on dinner.

I'm jealous. I miss the Olympia Farmers' Market so much. (I went to the Farmers' Market here and it was six people selling sweet corn and zucchini out of the backs of their pickups.)
Is the guy from Venezuela (or somewhere down there) still there with his garlic sauce? You have got to try it, it's incredible. Although not perhaps highly compatible with nursing. But some kids like garlic.
I will have to check for him. Ben has had to tolerate a lot of garlic and he seems to do fine with it. We'll look forward to trying the sauce.
Wow! Sure wish we had something like that around here.
