My Long Weekend

We are home after a long weekend with Grammy, Grandpa and Uncle Mark. Mom has suggested I should be tired and going to bed soon because I am a little cranky. In reality, I am just used to people fighting over me if I complain over ANYTHING. "Here, let me get him." "Oh no, I can." "Ben, here let me hold you." All music to my ears. Now I am back home and it is "Ben, you were tired half an hour ago. Mama is going to put you in your bed and you can go to sleep." Where is the royal treatment? Grammy would never say something like that.

And Uncle Mark was cool. He promises to send me a training plan to get ready for basketball and it is nice for a short fat guy to be taken seriously when he says he wants to play basketball. All I hear these days is "Ben looks like he'll be playing football." Now if that isn't typecasting. If I could just get in a little more exercise, I know some of this weight would go. But I do like to eat....

I guess I missed some fireworks. Not sure what they are, but hear I will probably either love them or hate them next year. Hmmm.... I was just too tired to stay up last night.

I also missed golfing with Dad and Grandpa. They were wise not to tell me they were going or I might have felt bad. But I do like to sleep in and Grandpa took me in to Grammy to snuggle and we read stories, which really isn't too bad. I think I will wait and ask to go when they make a later tee time.

Because, it is Independence Day weekend, Mom thinks it would be good for me to write on how blessed I am to have been born an American. But I am too exhausted to be that reflective. Plus I really haven't been around long enough to understand all that too well yet. But with a family like mine, I'm likely to hear about it soon. Goodnight.

Oh, and welcome to Tucker Abram Jones, born this morning to Evan and Jill Jones. I look forward to being friends.
