I've been talking a lot about my feelings on things lately. So far I have hesitated to vocalize my thoughts on politics. I recognize that many of you realize I don't have a lot of experience and my young age makes me hesitant to comment. However, with a blog comes responsibility. And I don't want to neglect my blog-given duty to state whom I'm endorsing for President this fall.
First of all, let the record show that my dad is a great candidate. However, apparently you have to be 35 to be elected and more importantly, you have to run for office. So Dad, is out. Uncle Mark also misses the age limit and I am a firm believer in First Ladies, of which he has none.
So, since my mom told me I have to choose between Bush or Kerry, I have analyzed the candidates based upon what is important to me. I have been told that politicians are "baby-kissers." And when you look at it from that perspective, it helps bring clarity to the situation. If I ran into John Kerry on the campaign trail, I would prefer he not kiss me. He looks a little yucky and he has too much hair and a scary smile. I don't know if George W. Bush would bother to kiss me, but he would probably shake my hand and say "hello." Good traits. More importantly, he might have one of his daughters with him and she might kiss me. Now, that is more like it!
Ben, what about the issues?
Oh, right Mom. President Bush also gave everyone a huge tax break for kids and that means you get more money to spend on me. And you get to stay with me so we can go to the pool, right?
