Ben is playing with his toys right now and has given Mom permission to post her thoughts on his blog.
We had a midweek movie night thanks to cheap Safeway rentals. After a quick decision in the grocery line, we decided on Chasing Liberty. I had seen a trailer that led me to believe there would be a little suspense mixed in with the romance. I was misguided. (My husband wonders who ever would think to suspect a grain of suspense in a Mandy Moore flick.) This was all fluff! No depth, no moral lesson, nothing I look for in a movie. Well, except European scenery which is always a plus. The best part of the movie was the cast, particularly Mark Harmon as the President, and Martin Hancock, a British actor who plays the most interesting character the movie offers-a scruffy loveable pick-pocket named McGrath. Matthew Goode is nice to look at, even if his role didn't give him a chance to flex his acting muscles. Aside from this, this movie offers very little in the way of entertainment. And definitely not worth the price of a new release, even at Safeway.
